Every whisky has a story, and this one is a love story. Chapter 3 celebrates the love between Roddie & Elaine. Their longstanding connection to Bladnoch, and the role the distillery has continued to play throughout their life together, made their story a natural choice for the third chapter of Loch Maberry.

Alongside Master Distiller Dr Nick Savage, they selected a Cognac-matured Single Malt to reflect the warmth and character of that story. The whisky reveals aromas of apricot jam and muscovado sugar, a palate of orange marmalade, ripe apricots and warming spice, and a long, sweet finish of sugared apricot.

Stories of Bladnoch

Loch Maberry: Stories of Bladnoch is an annual, limited-edition series created in collaboration with some of Bladnoch’s most passionate admirers. Each year, we share the story of someone with a meaningful connection to the distillery, inviting them to work alongside Master Distiller Dr Nick Savage to select a cask for bottling and create a whisky that reflects their journey with our distillery.

Every Loch Maberry release includes two personal letters within the presentation box: one from Nick to the person behind that year’s story, and one in return, sharing their story and connection to Bladnoch. These letters are created exclusively for each release and can only be read by those who own the bottle.

Roddie & Elaine's Story

Roddie and Elaine’s story with Bladnoch is one of chance, connection and love. A long-time admirer of Bladnoch, Roddie’s connection to the distillery eventually led to the pair meeting after Waterfall Day, beginning a relationship that would go on to become part of their shared story with the distillery. Bladnoch has remained special to them ever since, from sharing whisky from a quaich on their wedding day to returning to the distillery for their anniversaries. This enduring connection is why they were chosen as the inspiration for the third release in Loch Maberry: Stories of Bladnoch.
