The Wave I - Time & Maturation

£150.00 GBPIncl. VAT

ABV: 53.8% ABV

We are delighted to present The Wave, the second series in the Master Distiller's Collection.  Demonstrating the marrying process of whisky casks, each annual release reveals one of the five whisky making pillars used by Dr Nick Savage.

The first whisky in the series focuses on Time & Maturation and showcases Bladnoch's method of selecting casks at the peak time of the maturation process for optimal flavour.  For this first release, a 1,500 litre Amontillado Sherry tun was filled with Bladnoch whiskies from its extensive stock across the years, all matured in ex-Bourbon casks and combined with fifth and final release of the Waterfall series.

Tipped to tun in 2022 and bottled in 2025. 1817 bottles released.

The Wave

The Wave is the second release in the Master Distiller’s Collection, following on from the hugely successful Waterfall series. It walks through the marrying process of whiskies on a journey that showcases the five pillars of whisky making, used by our Master Distiller, Dr Nick Savage. Five Amontillado Sherry tuns have been filled with whiskies from various combinations of cask types to marry and be released annually, with each release of 1817 bottles focusing on a new pillar. The remaining whisky is decanted into the following year’s tun, creating a common thread throughout the series.
